Rihanna appears to be unstoppable. The world-renowned pop singer, designer and businesswoman has announced her latest, ambitious project: the Fenty Skin skincare line. Rumours had been rife for months, and now the Barbados-born star has confirmed the launch of her new facial skincare line to Vogue UK, which features Rihanna herself on the cover of its May issue.

Rihanna launched Fenty Beauty in 2017, backed by Kendo, the beauty start-up incubator owned by LVMH. Fenty Beauty is renowned for its extensive palette of foundations, its super-shiny lip gloss and ultra-pigmented luminizers. It was an instant success, topping the €500 million revenue mark in 2018.

Fenty Skin will complete the Fenty beauty range, created by Rihanna alongside the highly successful Fenty ready-to-wear line, developed in collaboration with LVMH, and the Savage x Fenty lingerie label.

The Fenty Skin brand name was filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office last March. The new line is set to include skincare products, soaps and other personal hygiene products, as well as a series of accessories.

In the interview to Vogue UK, Rihanna said that Fenty Skin will offer the same level of quality as Fenty Beauty. This is why the project’s R&D phase took one year. The launch date was not disclosed.
