Perkbox moves into France, finds new way to put brands in front of consumers

London business Perkbox is going international following revenue growth of a massive 137% since 2016. The company, which links with companies to provide employee benefits via big-name retailers, restaurants and more, is heading to France.

The Perkbox team wants to foster happy work environments by helping firms reward staff and has linked up with major retailers to do so

The firm’s fledgling French operation is currently linking with major name retailers in that country, including Decathlon, Sephora, Ikea and Zalando. In the UK it has deals with a number of appealing labels, from big names such as Levi’s to more niche brands like Dr Botanicals skincare.

For the retailers and brands involved, it’s another way of getting their products in front of consumers in a crowded marketplace and a recent study of 2,315 UK workers by Perkbox found that employees are increasingly keen for companies to offer access to products, clubs and activities as rewards.

The company’s concept makes the most of businesses that have a strong focus on employee retention and well-being and France could be a strong market for it given the legal requirement there for firms to provide certain benefits.

Co-founder and CEO Saurav Chopra said: “Our goal is to become the biggest engagement platform worldwide that helps foster the entire employee experience of every company’s staff. Our expansion into France shows our ongoing commitment to achieve this. We have listened to our clients’ demands and are now acting upon them.”

He also said that the company has a suite of new-generation products going live at the moment.

In France, the firm will initially focus on companies with fewer than 250 employees and it said 450 small/medium-sized businesses have registered with it so far. It expects to have 3,000 on its platform by year-end with plans to roll out to other European countries in 2019.
