Oman fragrance maker Amouage names new CEO

Fragrance maker Amouage named Marco Parsiegla as its new CEO this week, as the Oman-based brand aims to extend its appeal to a wider audience.

Marco Parsiegla has been named Amouage's new CEO - Amouage

In this new role, Parsiegla will drive the development of Amouage's fragrances while adapting to global market trends and customer behavior. He has also been charged with elevating the Amouage experience via retail and digital.

Parsiegla will in fact be carrying out an almost head-to-toe reorganization of the brand's business model, but he won’t be doing it alone.

"I tossed aside the idea of appointing a single creative director to helm the brand, and moved towards creating a more inclusive and dynamic Creative Collective,” explained Parsiegla, in a news statement.

“We are currently recruiting a hub of exceptional artists who will be operating in unison under the leadership of a newly established chief experience officer position. These include perfumers, editors, designers, audiovisual artists, etc. to name a few."

Parsiegla has decades of experience in the fragrance and cosmetics industry.

Before joining the privately owned and independent luxury fragrance player, the executive held the role of executive vice president for global luxury at Havas. Prior to that, he was general manager & vice president of prestige products at Procter & Gamble, with end-to-end responsibility for the global beauty business, leading in-depth category experiences at the world's fourth biggest fragrance company.

Bottled in Oman, Amouage fragrances are designed by noses in Europe using traditional ingredients such as oud, incense and musk.

Founded in 1983, Amouage is available in more than 70 countries and more than 1,000 selected global retail outlets including department stores and stand-alone boutiques in Italy, United Kingdom, Malaysia, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar.
