PARIS, Aug 11, 2009 (AFP) - As "green" concerns permeate the economy, one of the world's top trend-setting boutiques is offering environmentally-friendly rubbish bags alongside designer sneakers and cutting-edge club wear.

Designed by Japan's Kenjiro Sano, the non-polluting 45-litre bags are on sale at 10 for eight euros (11 dollars) at Colette's, one of the world's first and most prestigious concept-stores -- shops that offer a cross-selection of goods.

A colourful world map is printed on the bags, so that when fashionistas put the trash out "it gives you a chance to think about the importance of the environment".

To be fair, the trend-setting boutique visited by people from across the world joined the environmental crusade early.

It currently offers Kate Moss T-shirts whose profits fund The Climate Project, ethical scarves from Ethiopia from homegrown top-model Liya Kebede, carbon-footprint-free sneakers, and biodegradable Kiehl cosmetics whose profits go to a Brangelina foundation to help the planet.
