The HBC-owned department store veteran has been in the position as Lord & Taylor’s president since 2014, where she oversees merchandising, marketing, creative, stores, e-commerce direction, and overall strategy.

She started with the company as a dress buyer in 1985, where she held various management positions with the department store including Executive Vice President of Merchandising from 2008 to February 2012 and Senior Vice President General Merchandising Manager since 1992.

What’s more, in addition to serving as Lord & Taylor’s president, she simultaneously served as President of HBC Department Store Group at Hudson's Bay Company in Canada from February 2014 to June 8, 2017.

A search is under way for Rodbell’s successor.

The news of Rodbell’s departures comes at a time where Lord & Taylor’s future is unclear. The retailer sold its flagship Fifth Avenue store in Manhattan to office company WeWork. The space will shrink to 150,000 square feet, a quarter of its current size, after the 2018 holiday season, while the rest will be converted into WeWork office spaces.

Recently, however, there has been speculation that Lord & Taylor would completely give up the space to avoid rent.
