A Spanish court has orderd Desigual to compensate a local model agency for hiring Brazilian model Adriana Lima in a dishonest manner.

Adriana Lima - Desigual

Desigual was accused by SS&M of dealing the recruitment of Adriana Lima directly with the model’s agent, Chris Gay, instead of with her official modelling agency. This way, the retailer managed to avoid paying the agency its 10% fee.

The Brazilian beauty starred Desigual’s ‘La Vida es Chula´ campaign in 2014 for a sum that was not disclosed.

The court estimated that the 10% commission would have reached 106,000 euros, which is the sum Desigual has been ordered to pay SS&M.

According to Spanish newspaper El País, Desigual plans to appeal against the ruling.
