Luxury Italian footwear label Bruno Magli announced on Tuesday that it will open a 2,000-square-foot concept shop in New York City's SoHo this fall.

The concept shop will offer men's and women's footwear and watches, women's handbags and men's small leather goods, tailoring and socks. It will also host in-store events and programming that pays homage to Magli's Italian history and heritage.

"Opening our concept store in SoHo is really about having a more direct relationship with our Bruno Magli consumer," says Cory Baker, chief operating officer of Marquee Brands, which owns Bruno Magli.

He went on to explain that the label is seeing increased awareness from a younger consumer who is learning about the brand through social media. To that end, the concept shop will be "a dynamic environment that will be part retail, part museum as well as social café."

Baker added that the inspiration for the concept is the idea that "Italian luxury is about more than just a purchase." The store will therefore offer a full brand experience that celebrates the 80-year-old label's history and design, seeking to create a space which will engage both brand loyalists and new customers.

The Bruno Magli store will open in NY's SoHo neighborhood on Wooster Street near Chanel, Gucci, and Tiffany & Co. It is slated to open September 1, 2018.
