CHICAGO, July 30 (Reuters) - AnnTaylor Stores Corp (ANN.N) said on Thursday 30 July that it would cut about 160 jobs and anticipates saving more under a restructuring program that it launched 18 months ago.

The women's apparel retailer also said it should report earnings, excluding restructuring and impairment costs, slightly better than break-even for the second quarter ending Aug. 1.

Second-quarter sales at stores open at least a year should reflect continued weakness, primarily at the Ann Taylor division. It forecast quarterly sales of about $470 million.

Those forecasts top analysts' average expectations for a loss of 2 cents per share on revenue of $460.9 million, according to Reuters Estimates.

AnnTaylor said some of its new plans include cutting corporate and divisional jobs. It now expects about $125 million in ongoing annualized savings over the three-year plan ending in fiscal 2010, up from a prior target of $85 million to $95 million.
